This porter is one of Head Brewer and Co-founder Christian Koch's first-ever homebrew recipes, and it has become a tasting room favorite. We decided to name this delicious Robust Porter after one of our favorite ski runs at our local, independent ski resort, Monarch Mountain, located just 15 minutes from our brewery. Little Mo’ is a long relaxing blue run with fantastic views of Monarch Pass and the Sawatch Mountain Range and is just one of those runs you can hit all day long- much like our porter.

Sample from a bottle. Pours a hazy brown, with a small, foamy, beige head. The nose is licorice, caramel, burnt toast, and chalk. Sweet and malty flavor. Medium body, a little thin, and smooth. Overall, this is a weak porter, with some fairly unpleasant aromas and a weak palate.

Taste comprises bitter chocolate, tangy dark fruits, light roast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so porter, not much depth for 6%.

Bottle. A reddish dark brown beer topped by a small, dense, beige head. The aroma has some chocolate and coffee, but it’s too weak I think. After a while it turns out to be really pleasnt though. The flavor has roasted malts and dark chocolate, and a touch of coffee. Full to medium body, semi-dry and with a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting finish with roasted malts and chocolate. Perhaps a bit one dimensional this one, but sure a nice one. 140228

Bottled at SBWF. Dark brown, small head. Chocolaty nose. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and caramel dominates. Growing resiny bitterness. Unfair comparison to have it side by side to Founders Porter.
