Can shared at a tasting. Jet black pour, beige head. Nose is dark chocolate, cocoa powder, warming booze, light dried fruity touch. Taste is pretty simple yet tasty chocolatey boozy sweetness with some molasses. Sometimes less is truly more. Creamy, silky body, soft carbonation. Not super complex, but nice and round.

Can from Beer Republic. Aroma is roasted malt with chocolate, coffee, mocha, caramel, liquorice, cocoa. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate bitterness. Medium to full body. Good basic Imperial Stout, on the sweet side with some liquorice.

1 pint can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of chocolate fudge, mocha, and roasted malts. Flavors of nutty chocolate, mocha, and roasted malts. Just a bit of sweetness. Very nice.

473ml can. Pours an opaque black with a small, creamy, short lived, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, molasses, peat and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, licorice, dark chocolate, plum and coffee in a dry, mild bitter, warming booze finish. Full body with a sticky, creamy, oily texture and soft carbonation. Well balanced and delicious.

Poured a pitch black color. Finally having the base beer for the Eclipse series. This wasn't actually half bad. Dark chocoalte, chocolate cake with dusted cocca powder. Milk chocolate, roast. At a DCBeer share.

Can, mooch tasting, courtesy of Sergey and the gang; 9.9% ABV; 1.5 years old
Black colour. Aroma of roasted malts. Good body, lean; the flavour is mostly roasted malts, burnt sugar, ashes, but it's a bit mellower later; mild nuttiness; the bitterness seems to come mostly from the dark malts. Good, but not the kind of Stout we drink nowadays.

16oz shared with Josh @ Ryan's (thx for the beer, dude!). Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head, Aroma: roasty, inky, bold. Taste: along the same lines, nice body, finishes quite roasty, but still with some sweetness. Overall: good one for RIS and still quite enjoyable.

Poured from 473mL can (canned 05/17/22; thanks Cindy). Black with light tan head. Mild roast malt, some feint booze and fruit notes, decent, but not tremendous.

Dark brown, thin head. Sort of a tarry burnt note. Lots of bitterness. Light toastiness as well. So burly, some residual sugars but not a ton. Decent brew.

(24.10.2023.)
