Golden (as it says) with gentle bubbles and a thin lacy head. The nose has beautiful rich mango aromas. The taste i of more mango and guadeloupe melon with a background maltiness. The palate has decent texture and structure with a clean finish. Overall, this is a lovely beer, though I’d say it was more of a pale ale than a lager.

Draft. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of grain and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of honey and grain as well as lighter notes of metal, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle. Clear pale golden, thin white head. Subtle but pleasant aroma - sweet and fruity. Light body and carbonation. Flavour is bland: light sweet start with slightly tart finish with the barest hint of hops. Overall, boring, bland but drinkable.

26th September 2008. Sampled at ’Beer Exposed’. Very smooth, no acrid tastes. Refreshing after the above room temperature bitters I had been drinking!

(On tap) Clear, golden with a dense, white head that leaves some laces. Lightly sweet aroma of malt and brewwing cereal. Medium body with fairly sweet malts and brewing cereal. A classic Kiwi lager - just with a bit more body. 250108

Test vom 24.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 6,4,6,3,10,4 - 4,65

(bottle) Clear golden colour with a short frothy white head. Dusty and slightly sweet malty aroma with traces of hops. Medium sweet malty flavour and taste, slightly papery and fruity (honey); light to medium body, crispy carbonated mouthfeel. Slim and very light-bitter, low-hopped finish with a tinge of metal. Rather disappointing but certainly drinkable.

Draught at The Craypot, Kaikoura. Clear golden, small head. Fruity and fairly sweet. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. There’s some grassy hops, but the rate appears very low. More pleasant malt flavours instead. Low bitterness. A fairly well made, Dortmunder-like lager on the malty side.
