Caramel and toffee notes bring a full and satisfying body to this classic style. Northern Brewer and Willamette hops balance the sweetness of the malt.

The competition is going to be with Shiner Bock, at least here in Texas. Will Revolver be able to match up with that? Let us proceed and see what this one person’s opinion is. I bought a single 12 oz bottle at The Cellar in Odessa, TX, pouring it into my New Belgium globe glass. Great look, a dark chocolate red liquid completed by a tremendous tan-yellow foam. And I do mean foam. A sniff, hmm, curious. Sort of a sweetish hard candy and hay smell. A taste now, molasses, malt, whole wheat bread, moderately bitter. Quite fine, more taste experience than with Shiner’s actually. I anticipate sharing with friends in the future. 7/21/18

(bottle) clear, bright dark brown colour with a small brown head; aroma of soy sauce, then hint of vanilla, cooked vegetables; faint, balanced flavour, no finish; unimpressive and not representative of style

12 ounce bottle thanks to Secret Santa Summer 15. Thanks! Kind of a terrible label. Dark amber, large foamy tan head. Good retention. Aroma of toffee malts, earthy hops. The taste is toffee, caramel, earthy hops, a bit of a tart fruitiness. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Nice chewy fudge nose, chocolate, raisins, treacle. Brown-orange color, clear, with lace. Very nice malt flavor, rich and bready, medium sweet. Grassy, earthy finish. Good beer.

Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, bread, roasted, malty, brown sugar, burnt mat, riped banana notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140118]

A dense, beige head sits patiently on top of a glowing amber body, hazy and with microfloaties. Sort of woody on the nose, with toffee and a fruity touch. There’s toffee in the flavor too, with some roasted notes and a little touch of prunes. Full to medium body, soft carbonation. Quite dry. Lasting toffee finish with dried fruits and some hints of dirt. Quite decent, nothing more. 140118
