Draft. A brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of lemons, hops, straw, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and over ripe fruits, leading to.a dry finish.

(Keg at One Pint Pub, 20170512) The beer black. Its head was medium sized, white and it lasted long. Aroma had malts, caramel and molasses. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, molasses, grass, malts, alcohol and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, boozy and bitter. A decent barley wine but the booze pushed through too much.

Bottle, BB 2020 (from UJH). Pours black with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is roast, chocolate, milky notes, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, chocolate, malt, milky notes, booze, roast. Finish is roast, licorice and booze with some dishrag. Overall: I really like it, but finish is so harsh and unpleasant. Without the harsh finish this would be in ~3.9 territory.
