Half pint from bar 1 at NWAF, shared with Finn. Deep, rosewood coloured body. Shiny black surface. Aroma of bittersweet malts, hints of anise. Slightly roasted malty taste offset by dark fruity hops. Bitter liquorice to the ending. Easy to drink. Ok porter (Manchester, 24.01.2013).

Cask at Mason & Taylor, London. Pours hazy, darek brown with a small, off-white cream. Dusty cocoa in the nose. Light sweet flavor, dry cocoa, leaves, light grassy bitterness, some burnt wood. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Very, very dry on the finish, more dusty cocoa, some wood, dry grassy bitterness, some leaves. So so.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 22/10/2011. Near black with reddish undertones and a tight, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and dark fruits. Flavour had some chunky chocolate, coffee and more fruit, leading to a long, dry finish. Excellent.

cask - Pours dark brown with a small head. It smells of roast malt and tastes of dark roast malt and chocolate. It seems light for a porter, but it’s decent.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2007. Black beer with brown edges. Bubbly tan head. Lovely aroma. Lovely intensity. Great choc/charcoal. Bit of powder on the finish. Intense choc aroma is utterly sutnning. So full of great Green & Black’s style bitter dark choc. But there is smoothness there too. Amazing.
