Cask at the brewpub. Pours clear, dark brown with a lasting tan cream head. Lots of ashy roast in the nose with hints of dirt and burnt leaves. Light sweet flavor with further dry ash, hints of cocoa, dried berries, earthy bitterness. Light bodied with soft carbonation; lacks condition. Somewhat bland on the finish, just some more ash, faint rubber, earth, hints of cocoa. Nothing to shout about.

Cask at the brewpub. Clear reddy / chestnut brown coloured pour with a loose cream coloured head. Aroma is earthy coco, powdered choc, bit of green apple, hint of toast. Flavour is composed of choc and toasted bread, little burnt toast, tangy apple and raisin, choc powder. Palate is a little thin, lowish carbonation, watery. Not great. Lingering earthy bitter choc and tangy fruit.
