500ml draught at Håndverkerstuene, shared with Eirik. Tan-coloured head, solid lacework to the glassware. Coal black body. Burnt malty aromas with hints of coffee grounds and anise. Roasted dark malty flavours mingled with moderate fruity tartness. Bitter roasted ending. Fine bodied. Tasty porter (Oslo, 03.09.2013).

Nice slightly brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and sweet, dark malts, roasted grain, chocolate, puffed rice, coffee, burnt caramel, dark sugar, hay, nuts. Taste is slightly dry and roasted, dark malts, burnt coffee, roasted grain, hay, cocoa, roasted nuts, hops, burnt caramel. Medium bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Very nice. (But I think this is more like a dry stout, or at least a stout, and not a porter).

Fra fat på Cardinaltreff mai-13: femte øl denne kvelden, og den første fra fat, og samtidig den med lavest %. En nydelig aroma av god morgen-kaffe. Superb smak, tørr og fyldig. Slik kan det gjøres! Håper de ikke går tom på Cardinal med det første.

On tap @ Bergen Ølfestival. Pours black, with a finger thick, coloured, creamy head. Aroma is burned malt, coffee, bitter chocolate and cocoa. Body is normal with a soft carbonation. Flavour is bitter with burned malts and bitter chocolate as well as coffee, syrup and kandi sugar.

On tap at HaandFestival 2012. It pours a more or less black body, topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head. Lightly burnt aroma, tending towards peated, some bonfire hints, cold coffee and a sort of fruity note. There’s some sweetness in the flavor, with burnt, bonfire-like maltiness, coffee and some fruityness. It’s soft on the palate, pleasantly carbonated and more or less full-bodied. Bitter, burnt finish with coffee. A nice one indeed, but a bit too much on the burnt side I think. 120504
