Called Deuce and on tap at the Shady Grove, good tacos! Big black pour with a tan foamy head that fades. Smells like a nice stout; bordering on volatile impy stout olfactory but never quite gets there. From the first taste I thought I was drinken a sweet or dry stout. Ive tasted sweet stouts that were much more wicked than this. But don’t be fooled, as the session continues I begin to get this spading action down the back of my tongue; the bitterness begins to set in. Oh no, onslaught of IPA. Yes, lots of personality. Building bitter on the back of my throat. Nice lacing down the side of the glass. Little detectable CO2 is driven over by the brown ale stouty tastes. Too much for a lager lover. Yes, fun beer experience with a bit of a shock for a finish. If you like brown ale near stout with a kick, better try this out; not your typical brown ale.
