Cask at the Cornfield Garage JDW, Eastbourne. Poured almost black in colour with a round frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light caramel. The flavour is moderate to light sweet, with a light, slightly watery, roasty, sweet caramel, liquorice bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at Sun Inn, Stafford. Pours a very dark reddish brown with a sizeable cream head and good lacing. Roasted malts and vanilla to the fore in the nose. Flavour in the mouth starts off with dark fruits and chocolate, and then moves on to coffee, treacle and spices. Some Olde English Spangles in there too. Finish is malty and slightly dry. A really good solid porter.
