Can at home. Opaque black color, medium sized quite dense tan to lightly brown colored head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, soft roast. Flavor is malts, brown malts, soft roast, nicely malty bitter, lingering dark malt bitter finish. Solid, very solid.

0.355l can. Aroma of caramel, roasted malt and chocolate. Pours pitch black color with thick creamy light brown head and fair lacing. Taste starts with rich roasted malt, caramel and medium sweet chocolate, follows dried fruity acidic, bready and ashy, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Oatslopes…

ON Tap at Payette Brewing, Boise. Cler nearly black pour, thin tan head. Classic dark roast aromas, and flavors. Picking up some smokked malts as well. Rauch-like. Clean finish and a smooth soft roasty trailer.

Can from total wine. Pours big and black with a tan creamy head. Malty nose. First impression on the palate is heavy stouty feel. Not much carbonation, but its there. The 8% alky is not apparent, hides it well. Going down pretty easy. Surprising smoothness. I was expecting something a little more uncivilized, but this is not. Not many dark beers with an alky content like this which are quite well done. Very well mannered, decorous and cultivated. Man, these guys knew what they were doing when this was made. In the middle its refined and polished with its dark mild roasted impressions. Finishes with a gracious cultivated soothing ending. Nice job uppy! One of the best high alky stouts I've had in quite a long time. s 7 L4 F 2 T 7 017

On tap at Tap That!, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has hearty oats and some toasted malt. Flavour is dry, with hearty oats, some bitterness, and toasted malt. Dry and somewhat lifeless. It's alright.
