It is named after the famous lighthouse that has stood on a bluff on the south eastern side of Nantucket Island since 1849. Perched precariously 88 feet above the raging Atlantic Ocean, Sankaty Head Light is in danger of falling prey to beach erosion. The lighthouse is the most powerful in New England.

Bottle courtesy of altonbrownd, thank you! Clear pale yellow color, fluffy white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of peppery straw. Taste is lightly bitter black pepper. Decent.

Bottle. Lemon malt and weedy grass aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Lightly sweet lemon malt and moderately bitter herbal grass flavor. Very light body. Not much to it.

Per the commercial description, no. No it’s not reminiscent of an IPA. It has a modest hop nose if at all, a bit of straw. Somewhat clean sweetish grainy flavor, no hop flavors, almost no finishing bitterness. Empty flavor. Not a watery body thankfully, and surprisingly given the low ABV. I get the vaguest hint of strawberry somehow, so maybe not so clean afterall. Anyway, it’s kind of pointless. When I want a light lager (which is mostly never), I’m not gonna pay craft beer prices for it.

I don’t know where this one goes wrong exactly, but it does. Thin, skunky, anemic yellow, bitter without needing to be.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a light yellow color with a decent transparency about it to allow a light carbonation seen rising in streams. There was a two finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some spider web lacing speckling the glass.
The smell had a light sweet corn with a slight sweet cereal.
The taste was mainly sweet through the corn and cereal, it gets a little bready in the flavor.
On the palate, this one sat pretty light and came across pretty sessionable. The carbonation was there and good for its style and to me.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good premium lager.
