Cask at Dog & Doublet, Wolverhampton Pours a pale greenish yellow with a small white head. Lemon and sweet malts in the nose. Some floral hops in the mouth but not much else. Feel is smooth with low carbonation. Finish has some hops but also lemon grass. Run of the mill.

Cask at the King’s Head, Bridgnorth. Mid-gold with a tight white head. Pixy Stix aroma with a hint of coriander and a bit of sulphur. Taste feels more focused: sweet with a decidedly bitter edge. Chalky mouthfeel. Bittersweet finish. What’s the surprise? Seems like a fairly standard beer to me, albeit a well-executed one.
