A traditional Farmhouse saison or ‘seasonal’ style beer brewed for it’s rich flavor and character. Four select yeast strains are used to brew this complex, fruity and aromatic beer. An abundance of whole cone Fuggle & Golding hops create a delicate balance with the malted barley, wheat & oats.

Aroma of fruits, citrus, orange, peppery notes, spicy Saison yeast, floral notes, apricot, malt. Flavour is moderate sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Nicely full and complex with a good overall balance. Delicious Saison.

Notes from October 2012 Bottle from Made in Oregon. Body is a cloudy mellow gold. Stiff, stubborn, pop-marked off-white head. Smells of pungent clove, bitter rind, & fruit juice. Dusty malt, leaves, alcohol, & Play-Doh on the back end. Unrelated, but the wax on the cap has this awesome ambergris scent to it. Belgian, sticky tripel sort of sweetness. Pretzel-like malt. Lemon twang. Mellow yeast. Beer is pretty warm by now. A little mushroom. Leafy, shy, bitter finish. Frothy. Strong carbonation that faltered when I needed it. A bit too sweet & heavy for me. The brett version thinned things out nicely though.

(Draught at Mother Kelly's, Bethnal Green, London, 22 Nov 2019) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, spicy nose with citrus, hay, grass, yeast and bread. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of peaches, citrus, bread, hay, grass, yeast and a balanced spicy bitterness. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Solid and well made saison. Very nice.

Bottle. Color: Hazy golden, frothy white head. Aroma: Yeast, malt. Taste: Malt, spicy / peppery yeast, some funk and subtle sweetish yellow fruit. Caramel and burnt sugar hints. Light citrus fruit hints. Over medium body, dense and bit oily, foamy mouthfeel. Medium sweet, moderate bitter. Bittery finish. Just below average carbonation. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Aroma is a bit disappointing, but taste is pretty complex and very nice.
