Heavenly Porter is a robust porter blended and aged with Heaven Hill old style bourbon. Distilled in the heart of bourbon country Kentucky since 1788, charcoal filtered to make a smooth and mellow whiskey. The beer is deep brown with a reddish tinge in colour thanks to the carefull blend of eight malts which give a slightly sweet aroma and a smooth initial taste and medium body. As the journey continues the slight warmth of the bourbon becomes evident and follows the beer down leaving you with a dryness in the mouth and warmness in your belly.

Dark ruby brown...clear...thin off white head...some lacing
Aroma - light roast malts...some dark sugars..hint of oak wood
Taste - light roast malts..some dark sugars...bit of treacle...sweet dark malts..bit of wood but not getting much bourbon here...rather plain...alcohol well hidden though
Palate - soft carb...thin to medium palate. Finish as main flavour...some lingering roast bitterness...easy drinking for 5.4%
Overall - Pleasant enough but I expected more flavour at the abv.....it was a bit bland
