A true sipper! A huge malt forward barley wine. Very light hop aroma, some resin, and floral hops. Quite a thick biscuity malt backbone. Some coffee, toffee, and sweet nuts. There is a bit of alcohol in the finish with a decent bitter fnish.

Old tasting, Feb 6 2015, at La tienda de la cerveza, Madrid (old venue on Ruda St, now defunct.) Very dark pour, honey to amber hue. Thick, moussy, long-lasting tan head. Aroma is honey, molasses, fig tree leave, candied sugar, orange peel. Powerful onset, oily mouthfeel. Strong and bitter finish that lingers for long.

@BeerTemple, 15cl, mooi helder koper met volle zeer licht bruine kraag. Aroma is zoet, caramel, graan, donker fruit ( vihjg/dadel). Draft at Beer Temple. Clear amber brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is big malty, toffee, caramel, butterscotch and light overripe dark fruits behind. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

650ml bottle. Pours reddish orange with a smooth bubbly white head. Aroma of biscuity malts, berries, earthiness, toffee, syrup and caramel. Taste is caramely, sweetish and malty with some biscuity notes, toffee, syrup, berries and earthiness. Finish is sweet, caramely malty and syrupy with some biscuity notes and hints of syrup. Quite malty and caramely.

Aroma has sweet malt, resin and fruits. Feels somewhat heavy. Flavour has woody tones, resiny malt, biscuits, grapefruity hops and some mild herbal tones. Also minerals and menthol in the finish. Rather typical American BW – perhaps a bit on the dry side after all.
