Brewed for RateBeer’s Theydon_Bois wedding with Sue (07/09/13). This is a red IPA which is bursting with flavour from all the hops we manage to squeeze into the brew. The different varieties of malt that give the red colour give an initial sweetness, but that’s overtaken by the citrus, grapefruit and pine aromas and flavours from the hops. This is followed by a lasting bitter hoppy finish. Additionally dry hopped with Cascade and with AquaRiva tequila reposada added to the cask to juice things up a little.

Here’s hoping for a hoppy day !

The Half Moon, Windlesham. Colin and Sue’s Wedding. Cask. Hazy dark red - amber beer with a small cream coloured head. Palate is light and a little dry with fine carbonation. Mild toffee malt base. Hops are pretty good with citric orange and lemon. Some pith and a touch of grapfruit. Finishes semi dry with mild bitterness. Pretty drinkable.

Cask at the Half Moon, Windlesham, 07/09/13 - my wedding day! Pours a hazed reddish amber - ’Rodenbach’ colouration if you must with a thin off white head. Nose is earthy hops, red grapefruit, jammy fruits, caramel malts, subtle tequila back notes but definately evident. Taste comprises earthy hops, blood orange, red grapefruit, caramelised sugars, lightly toasted malts, berry fruits, light tequila notes in the finish. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness and tequila notes in the last hurrash. Cheers Chris - She’s not a looker but I really enjoyed the flavours in this one !
