330 ml. bottle @ home. Purchased from Caigny. BBF 15/07/2015. Very dark brown, light black, collapsing bubbly mocha head. Lovely lacing. Nose is thick pine resin, light cacao, touch roast, coffee, lots of resin hops. Taste is bitter pine, heavy roast, light ashes, bitter black chocolate, big ashy bitterness, some chocolate truffle in the back,… Body is lightly ashy, dries-out your mouth. Naparbier is heavily hit-and-miss for me, this one is a clear hit for me.

On tap at BlackLab. Aroma of flowers, citrus, fur needles, caramel. Pours black with dense tanned head. Taste slightly bitter, but not overwhelming; smooth mouth feel.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Shmupi. Black with a light brown head. Aroma of roast and "green" and piney hops. Flavor with roast, a bit of chocolate, "green" and piney hops, and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Nice stuff.

330ml bottle from Mikkeller webshop. Black colour, foam beige head leaving lacing and aroma of bready malt, caramel and citrusy hop. Taste is roasty malt, chocolate, caramel, fudge, with citrus grapefruit & pine hoppy bitterness. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roasted tangy bitter finish. Very drinkable Black IPA.

Bottle (Uppsala Beer Festival 2015) - Very dark brown almost black. Liquorice, pine, coffee and some soapy hops in the aroma. Soapy and hoppy taste with notes of liquorice, fudge and pine,.

Draught @ Fermentoren, Århus. Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, light caramel, coffee, licorice, fruity hops, strawberry notes, spice, citrus, grapefruit, light pine. Flavor is malty, caramel, light chocolate. light licorice, bitter fruity hops, citrus, grapefruit, light pine. Medium body, average carbonation, lasting bitter finish. Very quafable beer with the 8 % ABV well hidden. 030315

Keg at Uppsala Ölfestival. Black, mid sized head. Citrus and licorice up front. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Heavily roasty with licorice and coffee, some tar. Sugar and resin comes though in a quite bitter finish.

Sehr dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Kaffee, Schokolade, fruchtig hopig. Geschmack röstmalzig, schokoladig, Kaffee, fruchtig bitter.
