Bottle. A lightly unclear orange-brown beer topped by a dense, beige head of moderate size. Some lacings. Lots of licorice and star anise in the aroma, with roasted malts and some hoppy touch. There’s some yeast as well. More yeast in the flavor, and even more licorice. Warming on the palate, full-bodied and softly carbonated. Lasting spiced and warming finish. There’s too much warmth in this one, and too much yeast, guess it will mellow a bit with some cellaring, but right now it’s too much. 131123

Pours clear amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, alcohol and christmas spices. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long warm, caramel and spicy finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Ulfborg weekend celebration of nothing in particular. Cloudy amber with with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, dark sugar and dried fruit. Sweet flavour with lots of dark sugar and Belgian yeast, and lots of hot alcohol

Bottle @ Scooper Tasting in Ulfborg. Pours hazy copper brown with small light beige head. Clear, sweetish aroma of fruit, with notes of caramel, malt, and oak barrel. Sweet flavour of fruit, caramel, and malt, with subtle kotes of hops and chocolate. Heavy stuff. Warming alcohol presence. Nice. Very nice.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, fruits, herbs, soap, perfume, malt and hops.

Fra flaske, DSJT på Cardinal nov-13: Kveldens fjerde fra Det Lille Bryggeri, prøvd rett etter vintage 2012. Mye de samme elementer: flott skum, nydelig aroma av krydder og humle, og balansert sødme/krydder/bitterhet, men den er litt vandigere i munnen enn vintage 2012 - trenger den et års lagring? Fra flaske på Cardinal, DSJT nov-14: nå er den en deilig barleywine med fin balanse, søt uten å være klebrig. Behagelig bitterhet med mandler i ettersmaken. Opp fra 3.1 til 3.5
