This is our interpretation of Amigos Británicos - a beer originally brewed in Vermont to celebrate years of brewing friendships forged in the UK. Together with our former Head Brewer Ryan (under his own new guise of Casita Cervecería) and Logan from Beavertown, we devised this adventurous ale with lime, honey and fresh Santa Fe Grande chilli peppers. Here’s to nights that become the stuff of legends and friends, wherever you may find them!

Bottled. Hazy amber colour with a small white head. Aroma is herbs, some spices, mild sweet malts. Flavour is honey, some herbs, citrus, mild wood and some chili with a pepper burn also. The chili pretty much ruins an otherwise nice brew.

Bottle from brewery. Weird in a good way. Honey, touch of chilli spiciness, Belgian yeastiness, touch of caramel. Feels somehow like a spiced up Palm. Got that great chilli aroma the five alarm had. But not so sure about this one.

Tap at Brasserie V. Quite a unique beer. Very clean, filtered golden malt backbone lets the honey and chili shine. Lime is there but a little less prevalent. Hints of lavender. Very smooth and easy on the palate. Cool flavors. Good. Light mead tones.

33cl bottle
Light orange color with a frothy white head with good retention. Aroma has notes of pepper, light honey, rosemary. Flavor with a light bitterness, some spices, mainly rosemary and pepper, some coffee beans notes. Slightly chili notes in the final with coffee mouthfeel.

At a tasting, thanks, small bubbly head, cloudy deepish orange color, aroma of chillie, green notes, spiciness in back, green pepper flavor with a hint of lime and some spiciness in the throat. Nice but a bit one dimensional.

Bottled 330ml (Etre-Gourmet)
Hazy amber colour, small white head. Herbal chilli aroma. Medium-bodied. Malts, honey, some citrus, oregano and some chilli burn. Chilli is not working well here, doesn't give much burn but vegetable-herbal vibe. Not anything to drink twice.

330ml bottle. Cloudy amber colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Weak and rather unspecific, minimally citrusy aroma, hints of lime, honey, a dusty, scruffy touch of chili. Likewise not overly expressive taste, hints of honey, chili, lemon, lime. Doesn't work for me.
