This is our interpretation of Amigos Británicos - a beer originally brewed in Vermont to celebrate years of brewing friendships forged in the UK. Together with our former Head Brewer Ryan (under his own new guise of Casita Cervecería) and Logan from Beavertown, we devised this adventurous ale with lime, honey and fresh Santa Fe Grande chilli peppers. Here’s to nights that become the stuff of legends and friends, wherever you may find them!

Keg at CBC CG - London. Pours unclear gold with a creamy topping. The nose has some dry green pepper, some orange peel. Medium sweet flavour with a bit of lime zest, pale bread, nips of pepper, neon. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with a little piney bitterness, lime rind, more pale bread. Decent but I wouldn’t want to session it.

Keg at Craft CG. It pours hazy mahogany brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is fairly subdued, earthy, woody, smoke, spice, chilli and fruit cake. The taste is bitter - sweet, very spicy upfront, hot chilli, candied lime, brown bread, green vegetables, earth and leather with chilli heat through the finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. OK chilli beer, just not very drinkable.

Bottle. Beer Stop, Dronfield. Hazy gold. Stream of fine bubbles. Thin, blotchy, dense, white head. Nose has bready and sweet yeast. Squeezy honey. Hint of leafy hop. Taste is bready sweet. More of the honey. Syrupy mouthfeel. A bit sickly. Dull carbonation. Not a trace of chilli, which might have given a lift. Bready sweet finish. Poor.

Keg at Craft Clerkenwell, on the final Thames Tipple Saturday 22nd October 2016 Pours mid gold, a little hazy. You can pick up the chill on the nose, as Loz says this is a really well balanced beer, the lime and honey play their part the chill adds a nice warmth. If I had a criticism it’s the base beer is a little bit lost, otherwise good beer. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
