330mml. bottle as part of the European Secret Santa 2019, many thanks @Erzengel for this one. @home, 04/04/2020 [#3.340 Global - #309 Germany - #3 Karlsberg Brauerei] Dark copper colour with a medium White haed. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel and soft toffee. Taste is medium toffee and caramellized malts. Sweet finish. Next one please!

31-12-19 // 500ml can thanks to erzengel. As Starkes Bock and with 6.6%. Clear dark dark amber to brown. Quick fading head. Very malt forward. But not too sweet. Light roasted malts. More cara. Smooth and solid.

Karlsberg Starkes Bock, 6,6 %, Fläschchen von Getränke Hoffmann, Berlin. - Kastanienrot, klar. - In der Nase recht süßes dunkles Malz, leicht säuerlich-herbe Schokolade, strenge Hintergrundherbe. - Antrunk ruppig dunkelmalzig und grell süßsäuerlich-bitterschokoladig mit schroffer krautiger Herbe. Milder rezent, vollmundig, hart im Mund. Im Abgang derb malzbitter mit ranziger Herbe und Anklängen an Möbelpolitur. - Unglaublich derber, unausgereifter Bock, eine echte Zumutung für den Gaumen. Daß die Karlsberg-Brauer sich nicht schämen, etwas derart Unfertiges in Umlauf zu bringen ... (19.11.2019.)

0,33 l bottle also from Erzengel. Thanks a lot! Clear dark copper in the glass with an one finger pale beige head. Smells malty with some choco. Taste starts more malty, increasing roasty. Little bit dark fruity in the background, alcoholic elements. Low sweetness. Metallic hints to the end. Okay.

Karlsberg Starkes Bock. Big thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts strong, malty, light alcoholic. Some metallically notes. Dry-bitter background. Could be more balanced. Still okay.

500ml bottle @ Shrewsbury Beer Share, Feb 16, courtesy of Blackhaddock. Many thanks. Pours ruby, off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt and faint spicy ginger. Taste is spicy caramel. A tad unremarkable.
