Cask at London and County, Eastbourne. Smells like a lemony cleaning product and tastes like a bad lager shandy / cheap lemonade. Nopeeeeee Cask at Oliver Twist Stockholm. I cannot compare the beer I had before in Eastbourne with this. B8zzarely this more travelled beer was delicious compared to the one in England. Sure some lemon but not synthetic as before and over all a really nice beer. Taken from 2.3 to 2.9 (this time round should be 3.4).

A clear golden colour with a small white head. A citrus lemon and light grain aroma. A lemony taste, again some grain, sweetness and tart bitterness in the finish. Not keen.

Clear yellow, sweet lemon in the scent and taste. Some light hop too. A touch cooler and it’d be a perfect summer beer.

Handpull cask at the Five Lamps, Derby. Golden, clear with a small film of white head. Doesn’t put me off but doesn’t exactly scream ’drink me’ either. Soft and barely tangible lemon aroma. Clean and not soapy like so many lemon ales. Taste is sweet, more like lemon merengue than lemon peel, with a gentle hoppiness in the finish. Well executed and while it lacks the flamboyance of Salopian’s best work, it is a solid little ale.
