Bottle from Systembolaget in August 2012, e-order. (labeled as SommarSpetz). Amber with a medium white head. This was an interesting one. Really a lot of different stuff in the taste, especially spices juniper and sweet gale. Also notes of wood and flowers. The finish was dry. Not bad but different.

Bottle at 3 Små Rum, as Ahle SommarSpetz. Pours a nice, clear, copper body with a beige head. Heather, myrica gale, camphor, piney hops and some maltyness in the aroma. The flavor is herbal and sweet, with caramel and some bitterness. Medium body and a herbal finish. The aroma of the beer was very promising, but unfortunately the flavor didn’t follow up. Due to the herbs, it’s a kinda strange beer, but with good drinkability. (080709)

Bottled as SommarSpetz. An amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of berries and medium notes of spices and malt. The flavor is very complex with notes of spices, bog myrtle, cloves, and malt, leading to a dry end.

Bottled as Ahle Sommarspetz. Copper coloured, small white head. Big spicy aroma with some maltyness. Flavour is juniper and some other spices all the way through. Herbal brew, which almost is something of a mix of a low alco mead meeting sahti and spices. Lovely!

Bottled as Ahle Sommar Spetz (BB 09/2006). Copper brown, small off-white head. A bit sweet nose (brown sugar), lots of spices (ginger). Medium-bodied. Grassy, toffeish, some spices similar to ginger and juniper, overall very herbal taste.

[Bottled as Ahle SommarSpetz at Tegnérs Gömställe, Stockholm] Pale amber, rich head. Herbal medicinal nose where bogmyrtle is very evident. Light-medium body with firm, clean mouthfeel. Soem caramel. Herbal bitter finish. Somewhat unusual, flawless and not at all without charm.
