12oz bottle from 2012 courtesy of my sister, ratebeer’s 15_2_Kuhnhenn, pours with a deep dark oily sticky looking blackness that really has no head. The aroma comes across with chocolate bar, boozy fudge brownie, soma vanilla and molasses. The taste is smooth and rich and getting rather intense to midway. Wow! I get chocolate goodness, some burnt malts swimming in a sea of molasses and then a bit of vanilla. This is a smooth rich intense sipper that only offers up a mild barrel character, which works well for me.

Pours dark brown out of the glass, pitch black, really slow nitro like carb due to the abv. not much head. Nose is a whiskey bomb. Lots of vanilla and oak and raisins. Trims the nose hairs as you snift. The smell lets you know that shit is about to get real. Taste is huge. Loads of the darkest fruits like figs, raisins and prunes….very little chocolate but ashy charcoal and dipping tobacco. blackberry finish and the whiskey is very forward with a lot of vanilla and healthy coconut and very cabernet tannic dry notes. really amazing beer.

Bottled. Nose of soy sauce, berries, chocolate, hot booze. Very fruity flavor, chocolate, nice tart aged character. Somewhat booze but pretty good as the flavors keep up.

Bottle - Vintage 2012 - Oak, bourbon and roasted malts. Jet black with a brown head. Dark fruits, roasted malts and barrel notes. Hot but the flavours are so big that I think it works in this case.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, beautiful sweet chocolate malt with loads of cherry blossom chocolate bars, light alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, an intense bitter chocolate malt with loads of cherry pulp, licorice notes, molasses, and a sh*t load of alcohol. Not for the faint of heart. On tap at Beer Authority. 10$ for 10 on.
