Our fresh take on a dark ale, brewed with US hops including Columbus, Centennial, Mosaic and Citra© and US style yeast. By using de-husked dark malt this lovely dark beer feels much lighter than you’d expect with crisp fresh hoppy notes to boot!

Bottle from Wales Ales. Black with foamy beige head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, citric, berry, pine hop notes. Taste is quite coffee noted, moderate sweetness, mixed dried fruit, pine, mid-bitter roasty finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Very good indeed.

11/10/2024. Cask at Nottingham Beer & Cider Festival 2024. Pours very slightly hazy mid-dark brown with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma was rough, roasted, twiggy, caramel, chocolate. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Moderate body, oily watery, average to soft carbonation. Unpleasant bitter finish. Normally a big bipa fan but not this one.

Can from Vinomondo, Conwy. Aroma is chocolatey with a bitter edge. Opaque cola brown. Thick fluffy foamy beige head. Initial chocolate flavour, followed by a wave of resinous bitterness. Peripheral herbs. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Very much a hoppy Stout as far as BIPAs go.

Tight tan head left a creamy cover on a mahogany coloured body. Malt, chocolate & spiced aroma. Medium bodied, smooth, creamy & lighter in the back. Malt, rye, caramel, chocolate & spiced tastes with a lightly hopped finish. Excellent.

Half at Owain Glyndwr. Dark brown with small soft beige head. Aroma is light roast, cola. Taste adds the bitterness expected from the style, although pretty light, and adds some sweetness. But the bitterness lingers on long after the beer is gone....
