Bottle. A black one, really, really black, with a small, dense, dark tan head. It’s very coffee-ish in the aroma, with licorice, charcoal, booze, some coconut and vanilla and a touch of dark sugar and berriess. Not much honey detected in the nose, but in the flavor there’s lots of mead-ish honey. Coffee, bonfire, licorice and sweetness. Warming and full-bodied, with sweet, honeyish finish. Coffee too. Pretty nice this one, feels sort of like a coffee imp stout, but it’s much more sweet. Think I like it. 140420

Sample at SBWF 2013. Black with a small tan head. This was an interesting one. Light roasted malt, licorice, light spices and honey in the aroma. Also in the sweet taste. Alcohol in the finish. I have never tasted a Mead like this before.

Taster, thanks to fonefan. Jet black body, naked surface. Dark honey and liquorice to the nose. Roasted malts, honey, liquorice and even some kind of wood to the taste buds. Full bodied. Likable and tasty, even though a few sips were enough at the time (ØK, Copenhagen 24.05.2013).
