Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy thin head and a little lace. The aroma is boozy alcohol, rich creamy tropical fruit. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a dry big yeast almost vinous palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not sure it’s a Belgian Tripel as such. I’m not sure what yeast they used but it’s probably not the same as they use in Belgium. Is it preferable to your average Belgian Tripel though? I would have it say that it is.

330ml bottle shared with jeevan. Pours hazy gold with a massive had, quite over carbonated, predict this might turn into a gusher given its four year BBE! Aromas of banana, cream and bounty bar. Taste has quite a sweetness, yeastiness, too sweet for me. Prickly texture, oily finish.

Draught at Söder om Småland, Malmö
Cloudy amber color with compact head. Aroma of fudge, hence a bit buttery and suspicious. Good body structure; it had a good and rare real fudge flavor without the feared diacetyl, caramel, some nice sharp spicy yeast, very light aniseed, and fairly strong bitterness; warming alcohol feeling too.
Good.

Bottle split at Dadsgiving, sourced this one from Ales By Mail, 24/11/13. Hazed orange amber with a big ole off white head. Nose is Belgian yeast esters, straw, light soap, toffee, dark stoned fruits, spice. Taste comprises bitter orange, Belgian yeast strain, spice, lemon rind, caramel, light booze notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finale with a fruity tang and a lick’o’booze. Decent enough tripel.
