A new addition to our range of Guest Ales, Regimental IPA is based on the traditional IPA beer styles, brewed to satisfy the tastes of the British Army in India.

Brewed with Maris Otter malt and a small amount of Crystal Malt to give the beer its rich, amber bronze colour.

Challenger copper hops are added to give the beer its full rounded bitter character, along with Bodicea and Cascade hops to give a dry finish with spicy, floral hop aromas.

500 ml bottle. Clear deep golden body with a small off-white head. Weak aroma with malt and a hint of butterscotch. Flavor is sweetish with a slightly harsh bitterness, hint of metal/blood. Medium body and short aftertaste. Rather dull.

Can. A clear, dark golden beer topped by a dense, white head. The aroma is mostly on the malty side, with a little fruityness. Pine cones and grass. Rather boring, and that goes for the flavor too. Caramel maltyness, some oxidation, grass, pine cones and a faint cheesy touch, not much bitterness. Medium body, soft and smooth carbonation. Short, bitter and bready finish. Nothing extraordinary going on. 140418

Cask @ Waterhouse, Manchester. Amber-orange with a thick creamy head. Has a floral character, although not overly agreeable, but relatively smooth in the palate.

Cask @ Secklow Hundred, Milton Keynes. Amber with a quickly dissipating head. Not a lot going on in the nose. I smell an umami scent and then realise itโ€™s my thumb. Maybe a bit of chocolate biscuit? Taste is muddled at first but ends with a crisp, short bitter finish with a slight sulphurous feel. Refreshing but almost no personality.
