On tap at Haand Festival. Looking gorgeous in the glass, even though I’ve been using the glass all night. A finger-thick tan head leaves lacings as the black beer goes down my throat. It smells and tastes quite delicious too, with salty licorice, roasted malts, some chocolate and both coffee and alcohol. The flavor has some sweetness, but enough hoppy bitterness to balance it, as well as the coffee, chocolate, salty licorice, roasted malts and alcohol found in the aroma. It’s full-bodied, creamy and soft on the palate. Not much alcohol warmth considering the ABV. Lasting finish where the dark malts dominates. A really tasteful one, not one to down by the gallon, but to enjoy in your favorite chair after a good meal or if you need something good in the glass on a cold winter night. 130525

Sampled @ Haand 2013. Black body with a nice beige head. Aroma has smooth roasted, black malt with a hint of Belgium yeast. Flavor is sweet, pleasant roasted dark malt, coffee and dark chocolate with some fruit. Fine body and good aftertaste. There is a twist here between stout and Belgium ale, not exceptionally outstanding but for sure a very smooth and nice stout.

Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013 - Session 1. Pours dark brown with a tight, beige cream head. Sugary chocolate in the nose, light roast, toasted bread. Very drinkable, with dry chocolate, light alcohol, burnt toast. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming finish with further chocolate character. Good overall balance.
