Red Tail Ale - The Legend is our flagship brand. It is brewed in the traditional "old world" manner, using premium two-row malted barley, hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. It is an amber ale with a rich complex refreshing flavor and a crisp dry finish. Red Tail Ale is "Bottle Conditioned." Like good wine, Red Tail Ale is a perfect complement to fine dining.

Bottle. Small, white head that disappears. The body is amber. The aroma has cookie, toast and flowers. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body with a watery to creamy texture. Lively carbonation. The body was the best thing about the beer which is average and overly sweet.

sampled at the end of tasting. Pours cloudy / amber. Aroma and taste, grains, yeasty, malty finish. Light hops. Nothing special.

Reddish gold in color with a small head. Molasses, biscuit malts, cranberry, and alcohol in the aroma. Strong molasses, malty, bread, and light hops for a flavor. carbonated body. Sorta boring with to much molasses.

I had not heard of this before I had it at my girlfriend’s. Decent brew, pretty, faint aroma, watery texture. Nothing special. Went well with dinner.

Pour is a red with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of hops with some caramel malts. Flavor is not as good. Some earthy malts with a caramel malt backbone. Nothing really great but decent for the brewer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Red Tail Lager on 26 May 2007 at 18:48 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Original review text: Pour is a very dark yellow with a small white head. Aroma is very grainy and has a nice hint of hops in there. Flavor is about the same with some grainy malt with a touch of hops. A decent lager.

Cashew, walnut, and pineapple aroma, a touch yeasty. Slightly cloudy ochre color, thin yellow head, nice laing. Nutty vanilla flavor, not sweet, with definite bark notes. A rather rusty brew. Subdued grapefuit peel finish. Although this is not a great offering, I really like this brewer.

Bottle. Pours a slighly brown colored amber with a nice one finger, fluffy, tan head. Aromas are of sweet malt with some fruity hops, but rather uninspiring. Flavor is OK, but about the same as the aroma. Things start off with a nice caramel malt presence, and then transition to a fruit medley that reminds me of pears. Following this, the aftertaste strikes and it is chalky and somewhat disagreeable... a bit of a wet and rotting vegetation/cardboard note that stuck me wrong.

12 oz. bottle. Just from sniffing the bottle I can tell it’s an amber, so that’s a good start. Pours dark copper with a spongy head on top leaving a few bubbles on the glass. Taste is solid crystal malts with some caramel, but also slightly dry. Definitely American hops, but not too much, just some solid, grassy bitterness. What can I say, I liked it.
