Our new Pecan Pie Porter no longer uses extract, but rather brown sugar and pecans roasted by friends at The Gallows in Boston. Buddy Hadry, a rep at Bella Vista in PA, gave me the name for this beer, the second Pecan beer now that he has named. Thank you, Buddy!

Dark brown pour with medium foam from bottle. Deep nutty roasted malts. Similar taste with pecan tinge. Rather good.

(Bottle) Black colour, hints of ruby when seen through light. Big frothy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of caramel, dark chocolate, brown sugar, roasted nuts and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with caramel, dark chocolate, brown sugar, roasted nuts, coffee, dark fruit, raisins and a sweetish finish with a mild roasty bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Straight-forward and not very complex, but tasty and well made. Nice one.

22oz bottle pours out dark brown almost black topped with a small head. Nose is nice big nutty notes chocolate cream marshmallow notes. Taste is more of the nice big nutty notes chocolate and some light coffee.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and hopy aroma. Heavy bitter wonderfull flavor. Long heavy biter finish. Creamy palate. Great beer.

Clown Shoes Genghis Pecan Porter 7% 2013 pitch black pour with a tan head. Umami savoury rich darkness. Smooth medium body with soft round carbonation. Roasty, chocolate, a bit nutty sweet & smooth plus pecan hiding in the wings. Good stuff.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Black, rich firm beige head. Caramelly nose with notes of pecan and coffee. Sweet with medium-full body and firm, rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and caramel, some nuts. Mid bitter finish. Distinct and straightforward.
