Summer Perle was originally brewed in 2004 to commemorate the 30th (Pearl) Anniversary of the Canterbury Beer Festival. A zesty, citrus golden ale, perfect for a Summer's day. This golden ale is hopped in the copper with First Gold from Kent, late hopped in the Hop Rocket with Hallertauer Perle from Germany and Cascade from USA. Finally we dry hop with more Cascade hops which impart a spicy and refreshing finish to this summer ale.

Cask at Merton Beer Festival, Oxfordshire, July 7th and 8th 2006. Pale gold brew, with a variety of hop that I can’t recall having come across before. This hop didn’t quite stamp its authority on this beer like some of the better known more traditional varieties but nontheless it went some way to produce an interesting beer that seemed quite a popular easy drinking and refreshing. Very summery with some citrusy flavours, a little bit flowery in the aroma stakes and would be a good session beer at this time of year.
