Cask (handpump) @ Craft Beer Co., 82 Leather Lane, London, Greater London, England EC1N 7TR.Clear medium orange amber colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fudge notes, moderate hoppy, fruity hops. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, caramel, sharp hops, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121208]

Cask at Craft Beer Co. It pours deep amber with a small beige head. The nose is caramel, wood, leather, brown bread and leaf. The taste is wood, leather, leaf, resin and a touch of dark fruit with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A solid ESB all-round.

500 ml bottle, from a potential importer. ABV is 5.0%. Amber to copper colour, large off-white head. Aroma and flavour of ripe and over-ripe Nordic fruits and berries (incl. blackcurrants) and blackcurrant leaves. Also notes of toffee, medium bitter hops in the aftertaste. A bit to fizzy for a British ale. Otherwise a decent beer.

Bottle. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Average carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of stewed tea, wood and lightly roasted malt. Flavour of caramel, stewed apple, underripe pear, burnt sugar and clove. Thin body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A sweet, malty beer with enough crispness to provide balance.

On cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham (Dec β11). Golden to Amber in colour. Fruity and hoppy touch of pine on the nose with some spices/heavier fruits thrown in - clove/cinammon perhaps? Hops and citrus and a sweet flavour in the taste with a touch of spice, nice lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Well balanced beer and retained itβs head well throughout with plenty of lacing on the glass when Iβd finished.

More grapefruity on the nose this time. The palate is lovely and rich in the beginning and middle and just the perfect refreshing bitterness. What was I thinking! Original Rating 16/03/11 = 5+3+6+4+11=2.9 50cl bottle. Pours amber with a good head. The nose has gentle pine aromas. The taste is grapefruit against a background of sweet maltiness. The palate is medium-bodied with a creamy texture and a sharp refreshing finish. Overall this is an enjoyable balanced beer.

Bottle that my dad brought along, consumed 25.12.10 Pours dark amber this is fruity and with a little bit of body, tasty with nice hoppy flavour and good malty backbone. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
