Yet another light coloured brew with citrus overtones that although refreshing and obviously well made, just bored the ares off me. There are so, so many like this on the market currently and I for one am fed up with them. I should have asked for a sample instead of going for a pint. 25th July 2014: Pheasant, Wellington Shropshire. Sorry you guys at Mallinsons, not my thing: but I have tried to score it objectively.

Aroma: Juicy orange, lemon and kiwi fruit.
Appearance: Hazy pale golden body with tiny yeast flecks floating around. Thin white head. Light lacing.
Taste: Lemon, grapefruit, blood orange and pale malt. Quite sweet and juicy. Low bitterness.
Palate: Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation.
Overall: A succulent, fruity Pale Ale. I could happily drink this again and again. Mallinsons consistently brew superb sub 5.0% ABV beers and are quickly becoming one of my favourite breweries.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Another ale from Mallinsons that has the look of a good pilsner - pale straw with a pillow-like white head and fairly heavy carbonation; however the lemony aroma gives the game away; this time, the taste is immediately sharply bitter with a lemony tang and a slightly grainy body; then a long, dry, satisfying, finish. Another excellent golden ale.

Bottle. An unclear, yellowish golden beer with a dense, white head on top. The aroma is mostly on the citrusy side, with a good dash of orange. Pale malts in the back. Medium body, quite dry, with pleasant carbonation and a nice bitterness. Some pale malts and orange too. A quite straight forward and easy drinkable one, but lacking some complexity. Wouldn’t mind drinking more of it though. 130216
