(Can) Pours completely black with small russet head. Nice aroma of dark roast grain with notes of wood, smoke, whiskey. Medium body with plenty of carbonation giving good mouthfeel. Taste is rich and dark bitter burnt. The start has some brief fruity notes, maybe raisins before the dominant flavours of dark toffee / burnt sugar kick in and carry through to a burnt bitter finish. There’s some dark chocolate and nutty hints along the way. A bit intense for my taste.
