Going out on a limb here, but I bet this imperial stout is sweet. Highly recommended by the proprietor at the local craft beer store, but that is his job. A tall skinny 12 oz can, I lift the top and tilt into a snifter this evening. The view is about as dark as you get without being totally black. There’s a ring of silvery, extremely fine bubbles. And I see a seriously steady of carbonation working its way to the top. I smell a considerable amount of chocolate. The taste builds on that but I do get something more. Chocolate cake with chocolate icing, enough pecans to register, dark malt and cherries. There is a full mouthfeel, provided by the high abv possibly, nice. I am surprised and pleased that there is more to this beer than being simply a chocolate bomb.
