50cl bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - a dark honey colour with a decent head. Nose - butterscotch from 3 feet away and more close up . maybe some dry biscuits in there too. Also unpleasant struck match thing. Taste - burnt toffee but the struck match nose gets in the way. Palate - medium bodied burnt middle texture and a reasonable finish. Overall - generally unpleasant and the nose in particular.

500ml bottle from The Grump Goat Reading. Golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, and floral. Flavour is similar with a fruity finish. Really liked the artisan feel the bottle which had with a real hens (well probably a cocks) feather on the bottle.

Bottle split at JF’s, cheers Jim, 22/12/13. Lightly hazed copper amber with a thin off white covering. Nose is biscuit malt, toffee, light smoke, woody notes. Taste comprises bread dough, fruit loaf, caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light bitter strains in the finish. So so bitter.

50cl bottle from Alfred the Grape, Marlow. Amber with a loose white head; orangey aroma; earthy, caramel malt body; with a decent bitterness - some grapefruit and a touch of spice. Another rather good bitter from this brewery.

Cask (gravity) @ The 18th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear medium amber orange colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. Bottle at home in London. Pours perfectly clear, golden-brown with a rich, frothy, off-white head. Nose has some dry fruits, light toasty bread. Medium sweet flavor, some toasty sugars, bready malts, light leafy bitters, mellow berries. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sugary, lightly toasted malts to finish, dry leaves, berries. It’s a fine, basic bitter.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, wooden and some mild nectary notes. Flavouri s fruity, wooden, mildly floral along with some honey. Fruity aftertaste.

Cask conditioned at Reading BF 2012. clear orange brown lasting near white head. Its a slightly earthy brown bitter. Quiye bitter on the finish. Competent and fine.
