A nod to the Americas, the word Feallan is the old English word for “to fall” obviously referencing, as the Americans term it, “the fall”, autumn as it should be called. And of course, Oktoberfest falls (no pun intended!) during autumn. This beer is an English take on German tradition and it abides by the traditional rules. Lager, tick, extra, malty like Marzen, tick, higher abv than your standard lager, tick! It’s a superlative example of the traditional style. It amalgamates caramel, sweet malts and lager crispness marvellously. If you Feallan, this beer will catch you!

Tight white head stayed on a slowly carbonating clear amber coloured body. Malt, tobacco & spicy aroma. Medium bodied, soft over the tongue with a thinner clean back. Sweet malts, bready, syrup & demerara tastes with a spicy finish. Very nice.

Tap at Beer Hunters. Copper colour, medium-sized white head. Aroma is leafy, sweet malty. Light to medium-bodied. Sweet malty front, some grassy hops. Solid but boring Märzen but more hoppy than many German examples.

(Keg at Captain Corvus, 20181103) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, caramel and lightly molasses. Palate was medium bodied with rather high carbonation. Flavours were grass, caramel, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, dry and bitter. Promising aroma, too fizzy palate and surprisingly dry finish.
