We were considering the future of our traditional Mild, with its lower ABV, when Dr Mike came up with this new recipe for Manx Pale Ale. Against the grain of ever-higher ABV ales, our MPA has proven so popular that it is a firm feature in our Permanent listing. Which just goes to show - you can never underestimate the pure appeal of great taste.

A very light Gold Colour. Aromas of tropical fruit, mango, passion fruit and papaya. Initially sweet flavours of passion fruit and peach leading to an intense dry hop finish

Ingredients: Pale Ale Malt 1) Goldings Galaxy 2) Galaxy 3) Citra.

Cask at GBBF 25. Clear dark gold. Frothy foamy white head. Aroma has some grains and a hint of citrus plus underlying malts. Flavourwise there isna gooseberry and citrus twany. Grains.. Underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. A golden ale of a pale ale.

Old rating from 2014 - pint from the cask on my Isle of Man visit, pours light golden colour with a small white head. Aromas & tastes of mango, citrus, papaya, passion fruit & malt. Moderate body. Long moderate bitter finish

[August 2022] Clear gold with a creamy/frothy white head. Fruity nose, maybe peach and apricot? Some biscuit malt, gives it a slightly grainy mouthfeel, more of that fruit and a lovely soft bitterness

Bottle from ShopRite, Peel. Clear gold with a fluffy white head. Light fruity aroma, flavour has citrus and malt notes

500ml bottle shared with blackhaddock in his beer cave. Pours clear gold, good white head. A touch musty on the nose, but then it is a bit out of date.. mild caramelised malt.. bitter close.. ok overall.

My first IOM beer. Rocky white head left a froth on an amber coloured slowly carbonating body. Zesty citrus & caramel aroma. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a soft back. Citrus, pithy, grapefruit & tangy tastes with a malt backbone. That's really tasty.
