Bottle. A hazy, dark golden beer with a dense, finger-thick beige head. Lacings. The aroma is quite boozy, with dried fruits and some sugary malts. Boozy, sugary flavor too. Some bitterness. Rather dry on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting sweet, boozy and bitter finish. Not very well crafted this one, lasting the complexity a quad should have and way too boozy. 141108

500ml bottle @ the 7th Shrewsbury Bottle Share, brought by me, many thanks to humlelala for the trade! Also glad to make a rare contribution to a new country tick for Master Haddock below. After previous poor ratings I wasn’t expecting a lot from this, but I think it surprised us all. Very rich and boozy, even for a 10.4% quad, with dominant hoppiness cutting through some dark fruit-laden malts. A great end to the night.

The last beer at the August Shrewsbury bottle share: cheers Mat for bringing the 500ml bottle (BBD 15 Sep 2017). Golden amber pour with a white crown. I thought it more hoppy than other raters seem to have done: have they changed the recipe because although it had plenty of semi-sweet maltiness in the aroma and taste it was predominantly hoppy (or had my taste buds been shot?). The alcohol came through nicely and this was a fittingly good end to a great night of beer tasting. This also took my personal country total to 99, onwards and upwards.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of faroeviking. Pours a clear warm amber with an off-white head. Heavy caramel, phenols and booze in the nose. Rich body, overripe plums, caramel, fusty and fusely. Rather rough and crude boozy with a bitter finish. Extremely unbalanced. 270413
