Appearance - 10 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 10 | Overall - 7.5
Aroma: Very rich aroma of chocolate, smoke and pine.
Appearance: Black body with brown highlights. Large off-white heads. Excellent lacing.
Taste: Dark chocolate, unripe banana and pine. Light peppery spice on the finish.
Palate: Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Gentle carbonation.
Overall: The rich malty flavours dominate the soft, citrusy hops but this is still a lovely Black IPA.

cask at cloisters ... deep black ... thin tan head ... deep daek roast ... soft pine nose ... headvy roast ... light bitter malts ... soft smooth palate long zezty pine finish ... nice
