An auburn beer with rich complex flavours and a deep red glow. The sweet maltiness is balanced with spicy hop aromas and a dry finish. Definitely a pint to savour.

Bottle from Redh. Appearance - deep amber to brown. Off white proportionate head. Nose - toffee and nuts. Taste - more toffee and nuts. Stewed apples. Palate - medium bodied, tangy and sweet though middle and finish. Overall - ok but a bit sweet for the style.

Bottle bought from Growlers & Cans stall at West Byfleet Farmer's Market. Aroma is eggy, malty, a touch of caramel. I guess it is 'aubutn', if more brown. Thick light beige shaving foam head. Medium bitter. Some spice. Underlying chocolate and salted caramel sweetness. Malty hints. Medium bodied. Slick to creamy. Average carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Better than I was expecting. Quite enjoyable.

Cask @ South Western Arms, Southampton. Unclear amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and toffee. Flavor is light and smooth with the same flavor as aroma. Low bitterness. Easy and smooth, but not much exiting, the name must be the most exciting part here.

Cask at the Rose and Crown, Sandhurst. Chestnut with a scummy cream head; malty aroma with some orange fruit; silky in the mouth, with a sweet caramel malt taste; and some spicy toffee and warmth to the finish. Satisfying.
