(Bottle) Hazy golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, spicy nose with coriander, pineapple, citrus, clove, white bread and a touch of yeast. Fruity, spicy taste with notes of pineapple, grapefruit, bread, coriander and a balanced herbal, spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Quite complex. Tasty and well made. Very nice.

Bottle from Maly/velky. Very tasty, moderate Belgian clove phenolic spiciness, quite complex. Balanced with moderate bitterness and zesty resiny hops character. Overall quite rich, yet soft. Quite good.

Bottle 330ml. @ home. [ As De la Senne Brussels Calling 2016 ].Clear medium to dark yellow colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, wheat, moderate to light heavy hoppy, citrus, floral, fruity hops, light grass, moderate yeasty, belgium yeast, light funky. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity hops - fruity yeast, peach, fruity, funky, crispy hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. 330ml bottle. Cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Fruity hoppy, slightly citrusy aroma, hints of peach, apricot and mirabelle, a touch of mandarine, slightly peppery spicy and minimally dusty, yeasty overtones. Taste is slightly dry, fruity hoppy, pale malty and peppery spicy yeasty, notes of mirabelle, quince, a touch of coriander and white pepper, some mandarine zest. Well balanced, harmonious, clean but not sterile. Another example from de la Senne that illustrates how to combine (Belgian) tradition with contemporary craft beer innovations in the most beneficial way.

Bottle at home. Hazy orange golden with off white head. Massive fresh tropical fruits with mango, some melon, grapefruit, pineapple. Light dried apricot, grass, soft sweet malts and a hint of sweets. Medium sweet and bitter with soft mineral finish. Medium bodied with over medium carbonation. Very good, just as good or better as a lot of hyped IPAs in my book, so balanced and full of flavor.

Très bel opus de la part de la brasserie de la Senne qui prouve encore une fois avec cette Brussels Calling sa maîtrise et son amour de l’amertume. D’ailleurs le brasseur la positionne en tant qu’IPA, ce qu’elle est, et de très belle façon autour d’une amertume saillante et tranchante, entourée d’une base maltée réussie et d’arômes de pamplemousse, d’orange et de mangue. Mention spéciale également à l’alcool, qui avec 6,5 % Abv structure excellemment bien l’ensemble. En verre, le blond est doré, paré d’un voile avec une mousse blanche de 5 mm d’épaisseur. Le nez est riche et bien houblonné sur les agrumes et notamment le pamplemousse ainsi que la mangue. L’attaque est soyeuse, très bien équilibrée entre malt et houblon sur l’orange, le pamplemousse et la mangue. Cette base restera d’ailleurs en bouche longtemps et permettra d’accompagner l’amertume qui devient racée et tranchante dès la seconde bouche sur le pamplemousse. L’arrière bouche quant à elle montre en complément de cette très belle amertume, un alcool plus présent et qui fait plus que ses 6,5 % Abv. La troisième bouche, furtive redevient un peu plus douce sur la mangue et l’orange avec une final long présentant une amertume herbacée et racée sur des arômes de pamplemousse. Équilibre sans faute pour une bière plaisir sur la fraîcheur.

Flaska från SB. Smak och doft av humle, malt, jäst, päron, ananas, grapefrukt med toner av tropisk frukt och jord. Fruktig, frisk, bra balans, rund och len, god sötma, beska med smak av grapfruktskal.
