Bottle. Looks grand - black with a cm of dense mid-tan head. About as much freshly roasted hazelnut as coffee with threatening syrup behind. But no, it's not overwhelmingly sweet - roast kicks in to match the sweetness and mocha. The hazelnut is still very nice. Bitterness has to crash through a bit. Not a lot of evidence of Bourbon barrel. Good.

Aromas are loads of fudge, with some roast, dark malt, and hints of nutmeats, coffee and coconut. Flavors are similar to nose, a little more sweet than bitter with okay carbonation. Add in a bit of molasses and tree bark. Better as it warms. Pretty good overall.

I’ve had a number of the various KBS offerings, this time it’s the Hazelnut Fudge variety. 12 oz bottle purchased at Mr. T’s, the local shop. A snifter ready, I take the pour. Super dark brown with a thin mocha colored skim. I lift the glass and have a smell. Dark sweet chocolate, stewed grain and something herbal. A drink finally, it’s less sweet than I expected. Bakers chocolate, cereal, nuts, berries and a touch of coffee. Rich and thick. Not bad but others from the series are more interesting.

Hazelnut, chocolate fudge malt, hay and wood ash aroma. Black with large brown head. Moderately sweet hazelnut, milk chocolate malt, and mildly bitter hay and ash flavor. Good body.
