Bottle at the ChrisO Flags of Many Nations Easter 2013 Tasting - London. Muchas gracias to the Rilester for bringing this gem back from his tour abroad - and thanks to Colin for coaxing him into doing so. Pours clear, bright gold with a fine, creamy white head. Sugary grains in the nose with hints of oxidation, some cardboard, white bread. Big sweet flavor with lots of sugary white bread, mild paper, honey, light toffee, some marmalade, golden raisins. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming finish with some sticky-sweet sugars, further suggestions of oxidation, bready malts, ripe fruits. So so. It’s actually a lot better than you might think. No, seriously.

Had a couple of bottles whilst in Barbados, bought from a supermarket in Oistins. Amber colour, minimal head, strong tasting. Sweet caramel aroma, you can smell this is a strong lager. Not bad, but I prefer others by Banks.

Nose carries pale malts, aspartamic false sweetness, touch of piss, floral notes. Taste comprises pale malt, citrus, shandy esque with bite, sugars. Medium bodied with ooomph, moderate carbonation. Forgettable!

Tasting at ChrisOs. Clear gold beer, little white head. Palate is sweet and dry. Sweet pale malt. Touch of generic fruit syrup. Dry finish. Meh!
