Das untergärige Starkbier ist rotbraun und glanzfein. Im Geruch sind Aromen von Trockenpflaumen, Malz und Hopfen erkennbar. Doppelbock ist ausgesprochen körperreich und vollmundig. Der Geschmack ist sehr komplex. Er ist kräftig malzaromatisch und besitzt weinige und alkoholaromatische Noten, sowie weiche Dunkelmalzkomponenten. Der Geschmack wird durch intensive, an Kräuter erinnernde, Hopfennoten abgerundet. Der Abgang ist lang und weich. Mindestens drei Monate gereift und nur saisonal ab Oktober verfügbar.
Der Bosch Doppelbock eignet sich hervorragend zur Einlagerung im Bierkeller zu Hause. Innerhalb von 5 Jahren reift er heran und entwickelt vollkommen andere Aromen. Probieren Sie es aus!

Bosch Doppelbock, Fläschchen von Edeka, Marburg/Lahn. - Goldbraun, klar. - Schwach malzig-honigsüße Nase mit leicht dumpfen Noten und Gemüse (DMS?). - Antrunk klebrig karamelsüß mit weichen Toastnoten, gefolgt von mattem, stumpf herbem Bitterhopfen. Mild rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang schwach krautige Hopfenbittere. Enttäuschend kurzer Nachtrunk. - Nicht direkt unangenehmer aber doch sehr blasser, eindimensionaler Doppelbock ohne Tiefe und Fülle. (3.12.2014: 2,2.) Bei einer Neuverkostung deutlich besser als seinerzeit. Tiefe Karamelsüße und lebhafte kräuterige Herbe. Anklänge an Walnuß. Frisch hopfenherber Abgang. - Sehr angenehmer Bock. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkelgoldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, süß, fruchtig, Karamell. Geschmack röstmalzig, stark fruchtig süß, Karamell, schokoladig, leicht alkoholisch.

Getreidig malziger Antrunk, steigend würzig. Die geringe Herbe passt und ist auch nur deswegen erkennbar weil das Bier keine erwähnenswerte Süße aufweist. Malziger Mittelteil mit leichter Fruchtigkeit, was sich im Nachgeschmack intensiviert. Gut! 6/12/12/12/12/12

Bottle 330ml. @ home.Clear medium amber orange colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, caramel, fruity, sweet malt, light alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, marmelade - jam, sweet malt, alcohol, sugary. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130305]

Bottle from the Ketzerbach Tegut in Marburg. Dark golden/amber body. Malty, slightly caramelly aroma, light herbal notes. The taste was more of the same, only with some alcohol. Sweetish. Strange plastic-like finish that I attribute to the glass I had it from. Didn’t impress me much. After the very good pils, the other beers from this brewery came as a disappointment.

330ml bottle. Clear orangey, dark golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Minimally grainy, caramel malty aroma, a touch of bread and biscuit. Taste is minimally sweet caramel malty with a citrus touch, dry, grainy, husky overtones; the caramel fades away, only the dry, husky notes remain in the finish. Faint Doppelbock.

(bottle) Clear and pale orange to amber colour with a foamy white medium head. Sweet and bready toast-malty aroma with caramel and alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium body and carbonation. Sweet bready and worty taste with a tinge of caramel and a malty finish with traces of hoppy bitterness. One-dimensional (heller) Doppelbock, but quite drinkable. Thanks to pivnizub for the sample.

Bottle: Deep golden to light amber coloured, fluffy off-white head, slowly vanishing; fruit (honey) and caramel in the nose, distinctive traces of alcohol too; sweet caramelly flavour; short sweet fruity and alcoholic finish. Boring, should be better filed under "European Strong Lager", lacks a distinctive hoppiness............................
