Light, golden coloured lager brewed and matured as a real, traditional Pilsener using European malt and hops with a long, slow fermentation and cold maturation to allow flavours to develop. Reasonably full bodied with a crisp finish, well balanced bitterness and continental hop flavour. Citrus fruits and Saaz are evident on aroma.

330mL bottle, pours a clear pale copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out cheap corn, stale bread, and boiled vegetables. Flavour is along the same lines, with stale bread, cardboard, and boiled vegetables. Dull and lifeless. Not much pleasant about this. Pretty bad.

Hazy medium golden colour, small foamy head, mostly diminishing, minimal lacing. Aroma malts, hay, grain, light citrus. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, grainy, light fruity, sourish touch. Sweetbitter aftertaste, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. A bit infected it seems but that is niet a big problem, still a pleasant beer.

9th Nov 2016: 330ml bottle between four at the monthly Shrewsbury beer exchange group meeting in Chez Sophie. Cheers Mat for my second Cambodian rating. Looks like so many lagers/pilsners: clean and clear light golden body, swiftly fading snow white head. Tastes like so many lagers/pilsners: sweet corn and grainy with a slight bitterness in the finish. Nothing wrong with it if you like that sort of thing: I don’t.

330ml bottle into lager glass. From Porters Liquor, Bexley. Aroma of grains and cardboard, maybe a little pepper. Pale yellow beer with sudsy two finger white head. A little lacing. Lazy little bubbles ascend. Good body. Initial light malty sweetness makes way for a slightly grainy finish with a little tin right at the end. Not bad, you could drink a lot of these on a hot Phnom Penh night.

Bottle@The Bank, Streatham, London - (My first Cambodian Rate!) clear yellow pour with a tiny white head. Aroma and taste is grassy and floral, grainy, bready malts, straw, crisp and light on the palate, medium to light in body, with a clean crisp finish. Pleasantly surprised by this.

Bottle shared with Deanso. poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is light sweet malt. The flavour is light bitter sweet with a fruit malt, light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

33cl bottle from Villa Market. Thin creamy white head. Clear golden pour. A decent enough pilsner.
