First developed for Bonfire Night 2011, this stout has a warming chilli afterglow. It aims to have just enough chilli to produce a pleasant aftertaste, without having so much that it will have you dashing for some water to put the fire out on your tongue!

Cask at gbbf 2013. Caramel pour no head. Aroma is roast and choc. Some chalk. Flavour is faint back of the throat chilli choc. Roar. Mid carb.

Cask at Ealing beer festival 2013, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, chocolate, definite chilli. Interesting stout but one would be enough.

Cask (gravity) @ The 19th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear dark black brown colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, spicy, chili, dusty, earthy, choolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask at Craft Beer Co, Islington on 8th February 2013. Deep ruby black with thin tan foam ring. Roasty aroma then smooth and roasty in-mouth with plenty of malt; chilli develops in finish to become a salient feature. Very smooth velvety texture and medium body.

50cl bottle from the brewery. A dark cola brown pour with a rapidly fading tan head; chocolate aroma; milky body with a chocolate malt taste, the chilli is gentle and pleasantly warming. A rather good chilli stout.

Cask at the Earl of Essex, London. Pours black-brown with a weak, off-white foam head. Nose holds some light chilis, dark malts, cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with dark chocolate and nice chili pepper heat. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Pleasant heat to finish, not over the top, further dark malts, some dry cocoa. Very nice chili stout.

Bottle from Jacks Westholme Stores, Goring-on Thames, Oxon consumed at Bromyard Folk Festival, Bromyard, Herefordshire Saturday 8th September 2012 Dark dark brown with light beige head. Bit of a constant volcano on the pour, with a continual larva frothy head oozing. Nice chilli kick that is done well and adds to, rather than overtakes the overall drinking pleasure. Some chocolate, smooth, gentle warmth again from the chilli, very nice stout, In fact really nice. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, toffee and some mild vegetably and spicy notes. Flavour is the same along with a mild spicy burn to it. Balanced, and not ruining the beer with the spicyness.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 13/04/2012. Near black with a decent, off-white head. Milk chocolate and roasted malts upfront, with the chilli only really becoming evident in the finish, with some long-lasting warmth. Enjoyable.
