Small sample from tap. Poured dark brown, bit of white foam. Aroma was quite lenient, some roast malts. Taste was quite enjoyable actually, dunkel is not my favourite style but this one had nice roastiness and quite fulfilling medium body, soft and fulfilling. Nicely brewed.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012, London. Pours fuzzy, red-brown with a light, white foam head. OK, some toasty caramel on the scene, a bit of brown sugar. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet with toasty bread, a bit of doughy caramel. Alright.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012. It pours deep brown, with a thin off-white head. The nose is caramel, umami aspect, prune, date, dark grape and wood. The taste is grape, wood, leather, roasted malt, toast, umami notes, coffee and bitter chocolate, with a very dry finish. So-so.

Bottle. Dark brown, a touch of orange, low, tan head, quickly turning to a touch of lace. Woody, caramel, nutty aroma. Lots of dark chocolate. Dry, nutty flavor. Chocolate and a bit of caramel, roasted well. Very dry. Almost no sweetness. Claims to be a Bohemian dark, and it seems quite like one. Not a ton of flavor, but good. Well-balanced and without faults, but a bit light.
